If you're looking to build a new header or footer for your Homesearch letter templates and you don't have an in house marketer, using platforms like Google Slides provide a quick and easy solution.

Once you have created a new Google Slide document to work from, you'll first need to change the page size to match the required dimensions of either a Homesearch template header or footer.

Click on File in the top left, followed by Page Setup. From this new pop up box, change the currently selected Widescreen 16:9 to Custom. Once done, the measurements will need to be in Pixels as opposed to centimeters.

The dimensions you'll need are as follows;

  • Headers - 1400 x 275 pixels (px for short)
  • Footers - 1400 x 340 pixels

Once the page is the correct size, we suggest first attempting to recreate the top or bottom of your headed paper with the text boxes, shapes and image upload function available.

For example, the simple header I created in the above video was made from two coloured shapes, a logo image upload, a QR code uploaded and a text box for a phone number;

Please do not include any of your key elements or important parts of the design against the very edge, as this could be lost in print within the page bleed. For example, the line in the image above runs from left to right. That's OK as I'm not concerned with loosing elements of this line in the page bleed. However, I would not want to include the phone number that close to the edge of the image as it's important not to loose any of that information in the printing of the letter.

Once you have finished your design, click on File once again, then Download followed by downloading it as a JPEG or PNG image.

You're now ready to upload your image into the Homesearch header or footer sections when creating a new letter template. More information on creating a new Homesearch template can be found here
