Homesearch allows you to upload your own PDF's into the system, here's all you need to know regarding sizes and the placement of the printers barcode.
**Please make sure to read the section at the bottom titled "PRINTERS BARCODE" to make sure your PDF isn't compromised by the positioning of the printers small barcode.
PDF SIZES
Within Homesearch you have the option to upload your own bespoke PDF's. PDF's can be created outside of Homesearch using such applications as Canva or Word or any other software you can use to create a .pdf file. Homesearch will accept either a double sided postcard or a single sided letter.
Different programmes use slightly different sizes when talking about A5 and A4, so in order for your pdf to be accepted by Homesearch your PDF's will need to be the following exact sizes:
A4 single sided letter = 210mm x 297mm (DO NOT include crop and bleed marks)
A5 double sided postcard = 210mm x 148mm (please DO include crop and bleed marks)
*Please note that an A4 single sided letter WILL NOT need to be downloaded with crop and bleed marks, but an A5 double sided postcard WILL need to be downloaded with crop and bleed marks in order for the PDF to be up-loadable to Homesearch.
Once you have created your PDF's using your application of choice following the above guidelines, you can upload them into Homesearch.
PRINTERS BARCODE
The printers we use will print your PDF's and place them into windowless envelopes. These envelopes will then have the destination address added to them so you don't need to leave white space on your design for said addresses. To match the correct letter or postcard with the correct corresponding envelope, small print house QR codes are added to your PDF uploaded file.
The Print house QR code/Barcode is 10mm x 10mm.
A5
On an A5 double sided postcard the printers barcode is placed on the back of the postcard in the bottom right hand corner (Page 2).
See below for the positioning of the printers barcode for A5 postcards. It is positioned 11.30mm away from the right and 29.89mm above the bottom of the page. These measurements should be accounted for before adding crop and bleed marks, in line with the image below.
A4
On an A4 single sided letter the printers barcode is placed in the top left hand corner.
Please make allowances for this when designing your PDF's to make sure that no important information will be covered up by the small barcode.
On an A4 letter, the printer's barcode sits 2.5mm from the left of the page, and 2.5mm away from the top of the page.
