Explorer - How to Apply Filters, Basic Navigation

With Millions of properties available to search, fine-tune your results using the filters provided.

From the home page, select the ‘Canvas off-market homes’ or alternatively, the dropdown ‘Explorer’ menu option, selecting ‘Explorer’ to reach the same page.

This will lead you to the Explorer page within Homesearch, as default, no filters will be selected.

Within your search panel, you will have a multiple choice of search options available to utilise. Let’s start with the example of completing a search based on a specific home address/postcode. You want to search nearby properties that match the same specifics and you wish to promote your recent successful sale to those homeowners, gaining the opportunity to introduce yourself to other potential sellers as either the best choice to take on their own sale, or to offer a home finding service on where they could potentially move to.

Type the full address or postcode in the search bar and use the dropdown menu to select the radius of the search, from that area only, up to 10 miles. This filter can only be used when searching for a specific postcode, building, or full address - showing as greyed out if not meeting these criteria.

Other area searches can be done with partial postcodes or road names. Results can be fine-tuned on all searches using the filter categories of ‘Property Type’, ‘Property Value’, ‘Property Status’, or advanced filters of ‘Resident’, ‘Property Tenure’, ‘Listed Building’, ‘Council Tax Band’, ‘EPC Rating’, ‘Show Only’, ‘Leasehold Time Remaining’, ‘Sold Date’, ‘Internal Area’, ‘Plot Size’ and ‘Planning Submission’.

Utilising these alongside their respective sub-categories such as ‘Houses’, ‘Flats’, or ‘Bedrooms’ that all fall under ‘Property Type’ can personalise any respective search.

Select your chosen options from the tick boxes provided and any dropdown menus related to your choices. Select the ‘Show Results’ button on the bottom left of your screen (bottom right of the search bar) which will show the number of property results expected from your search.

Your results will show on the map that takes up the majority of this page and is fully interactive. Results can be further refined by adjusting the previously input choices.

The aforementioned filters provide the main foundation for navigating the Explorer page within Homesearch, there are only a few other choices to touch on.

View - Choose between Map View (Satellite or Default) in the top left corner of your results map.

This also provides the option to switch to a list view. All options provide the facility to click on any individual property for further information.

Map Details - In the bottom right corner of the map is the option to switch between the visible overview information (on the map only) for each property depending on your original search criteria.

Collapse/Expand Search Panel - To hide your entered search criteria for a better view of the map or if showing the results live to a client you will find the collapse/expand arrow at the centre of the search panel where it overlaps with the map.

Zoom In/Out - In the bottom right corner of the map, there is the option to manually click to scroll in or out, this can be done via a mouse wheel also. Next to this is our Live Chat help feature where you can speak to our live chat support team during business hours.

Summary and Send Letters - In the top left corner of the map view you can get a summary of the number of visible properties that fall under ‘For Sale’, ‘For Rent’, ‘Under Offer’ and ‘Off Market’.

Next to this is where you can progress from your search to ‘Send Letters’ tailored to your search results, this will open up a new tab to complete your Homesearch letter-sending journey.
