Clearing your Cache on Google Chrome

Like any web based application, things can start going wrong with the Homesearch platform if your Cache hasn't been cleared in a while.

When you use a browser, like Google Chrome, it saves some information from websites you visit in its cache and cookies. The Cache will save certain pieces of your information that can sometimes make revisiting a website for a second time quicker.

However, if your Cache hasn't been cleared in a long while, websites can sometimes try a load older versions of themselves, or certain elements on a site will not behave in the way they are intended.

If you're having issues with the Homesearch platform and it was working fine yesterday, or other people in the office do not experience the same fault, it might be worth clearing your Google Cache;

To do so, first navigate to the 3 vertical dots in the top right of your Google Chrome window. From here select More Tools, followed be Clear browsing data;

A new window will appear that looks like the below;

Make sure you only have Cached images and files selected. If you clear your Browsing History, you could be signed out of websites like Facebook and Homesearch and we all know how much of a pain forgetting your password is.

Depending on how large your Cache is, it could take a few minutes to clear. Once the Cache has been cleared, try logging back into Homesearch to see if the problem is persisting.
If it is, be sure to let us know at support@homesearch.co.uk or contact us via our live chat service in app.
